Community Philanthropy Update

Greetings Friend,

We’re thrilled to share that our latest CF Insights snapshot report, looking at growth trends and operations among community foundations in fiscal year 2024 (FY24), is now live! Explore the data and findings from the CF Insights FY24 Annual Survey.

The snapshot includes data from over 400 community foundations, with key findings including:

  • Nearly 94% of community foundations included in the snapshot experienced a year-over year increase in assets over FY23, thanks to strong investment market conditions and increased fundraising totals across the field.
  • Roughly two-thirds of community foundations increased their grantmaking totals in FY24 over the previous year, the median increase being 9%.
  • Donor-advised funds were the source for 67% of all grant dollars going out from community foundations in the survey sample.

There is much more to explore in our latest data snapshot to help benchmark your own community foundation, including differences in revenue mix across the field, median headcount by asset size cohort, differences in operating budgets, DAF activity trends, and much more.

Join our webinar on Tuesday, March 24 at 1 p.m. ET where I’ll take you on a deeper exploration of these findings. Caresa Summers, manager, executive office at the Santa Fe Community Foundation will also be on to discuss some of the practical uses for CF Insights benchmarking data to inform community foundation operations and strategy. I’m looking forward to the discussion and hope to see you there.

Best,

Dave Rosado

Those who purchase the add-on will also receive new benefits including issue-based briefings, real-time updates sent to your leadership, and more. Stay tuned for more information in late March on pricing, timing, and additional new benefits.
